HP Byron Nelson Championship - Vegas Odds, Free Picks, + Tee Times

Getting started on Thursday, May 15th, the 2014 HP Byron Nelson is expected to bring some of the better up and coming players on the PGA Tour to the tee following THE PLAYERS Championship last weekend. While there won't be $10M in prizes like last week, there will still be $6.9M on the line with $1,242,000 going to whoever is crowned the winner on Sunday, May 18th - 500 FedEx Cup points will also be awarded to the winner.

Jumping back to Texas once again, the 2014 PGA Tour schedule begins its second stint in the Lone Star State as both the Valero Texas Open + Shell Houston Open were both played in the two weeks leading up to the 2014 Masters. The home of this tournament since 2008, TPC Four Seasons Resort is situated in Irving, Texas and this tough par-70 should have no problem getting plenty of support and interest from the local population.

If you are unable to attend this event, don't worry because Golf Channel + CBS will be teaming up to bring several hours of live coverage Thursday thru Sunday. Look below to get the full rundown of live network coverage including times and channel:

TPC Four Seasons Resort, Irving, Texas

Located just north of Dallas, Texas, TPC Four Seasons Resort is a world-renowned club and mega resort. The HP Byron Nelson Championship is battled out on the par-70 course over 7,166 yards. The tournament is known as the leading fundraiser in the PGA Tour and has raised $121 million throughout its history. The Las Colinas Course was dramatically redesigned in 2009 to incorporate large greens, scenic fairways, natural water hazards, and breathtaking vistas of Dallas' skyline.

The layout at TPC Four Seasons is only a Par-70, meaning that there are just two par-5s. But when looking at the scorecard, the yardage on some of the par-4s might as well be par-5s. There are two that measure more than 500 yards, including the 528-yard 3rd hole. It makes for quite a difficult start over the opening stretch.

The location of the HP Byron Nelson Championship changed venue annually until 2008 when it decided to make TPC Four Seasons Resort its home for the forseeable future.

Vegas Odds For HP Byron Nelson Championship

Despite the letdown after the 2014 PLAYERS Championship, the field for the HP Byron Nelson Championship is surprisingly good. Take a quick look below at all of the betting odds for this week's golf tournament and note the player names beside those betting lines... a few of those names might just surprise you!

Starting at 12 to 1 (+1200) both Jordan Spieth and Matt Kuchar are favored to walk away with the championship, but there are more than a few players that would have something to say about that. Look no further than last week's winner Martin Kaymer + current FedEx Cup points leader Jimmy Walker to contend and you simply can't rule out names like Dustin Johnson (+2500), Jason Dufner (+4000) or Brandt Snedeker (+5000) this week.

As usual Bovada has supplied the odds to win the HP Byron Nelson Championship that we're referencing this week and the odds to win will be available all the way up until Thursday morning and then they will only be available between rounds. Free Picks For HP Byron Nelson Championship

To Win 2014 HP Byron Nelson Championship - Though Martin Kaymer tabbed a top-five finish at the 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship and is the hot pick because of his win at THE PLAYERS Championship last weekend, we're predicting that win took too much out of him to contend this week. For that reason we're going to go with Matt Kuchar (12/1, +1200) over Martin Kaymer (18/1, +1800). Kooch finished T17 at THE PLAYERS, but prior to that he has four-straight top-five finishes including a win at the 2014 RBC Heritage a few weeks ago. At 12/1 this week, Kuchar is favored alongside Jordan Spieth but this is one week we're thinking the winner comes from the front of the pack.

Darkhorse Value Bet To Win - At 80/1 (+8000) a wager on England's Brian Davis might be worth taking a shot if you're looking deeper down the board for more value. After finishing T11 last week at THE PLAYERS his performance, including a final round 67, could very well provide the momentum going into this week. Should that end up spilling over into this week, watch out because Davis has proven to have the confidence needed to contend coming down the stretch.

Notable Pairings + Tee Times

The official first and second round tee times for the HP Byron Nelson Championship will be made available the week of the tournament—probably about 36 hours before the first round begins. Once that information is made public, we'll share it here, as well as our own picks for individual rounds. Check back for that information and more!

2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship

The 2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship provided plenty of drama, led by overnight leader Sang-Moon Bae. Carrying a four-shot lead into the final day is no easy task, knowing that the players in the field are gunning for the leader. Bae struggled at the beginning of the round, and at one point had completely lost the lead. But like a champion, he battled back and played his way to a two-shot win over Keegan Bradley.

The victory was Bae's first on the PGA Tour. At just 26 years old, he is definitely a rising star on the PGA Tour with a bright future ahead of him. The win at TPC Four Seasons was the only one that Bae had on the 2013 PGA schedule. But with the talent he has, that one win will certainly be accompanied by others in the future.

2013 HP Byron Nelson Championship - Leaderboard
