Zurich Classic Of New Orleans- Vegas Odds, Free Picks, + Tee Times

To close out a big month of April on the PGA Tour which featured the beginning of the Major Championships with The Masters, players head to TPC Louisiana for the 2014 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Play in the first round will begin on Thursday, April 24th, and conclude on Sunday, April 27th.

One of the best things about TPC Louisiana are the final two finishing holes, which will give those in the 2014 field the chance to do something special. No.17 is a long par-3 measuring 215 yards over water. Then players will face the Par-5 18th, which is reachable in two shots for a ball placed in the fairway. That would mean everything from an eagle to a double-bogey is in play for the leaders, with the scores dictating how many will play this one.

Fans will be able to see plenty of live golf coverage during the week at TPC New Orleans. Golf Channel will have the full coverage Thursday and Friday, and the first 90 minutes of coverage on Saturday and Sunday. CBS will bring the live coverage for the conclusion of both Saturday's and Sunday's rounds.

TPC Louisiana, Avondale, Louisiana

Opened in 2004 and designed by legendary architect Pete Dye, TPC Louisiana has hosted the PGA Tour's annual Zurich Classic of New Orleans tournament since 2005. The 7,400 yard, par-72 course is located near Avondale, Louisiana. Due to damages from Hurricane Katrina, the event was moved to a different course in 2006.

The championship course is meticulously maintained to uphold PGA standards. It was named one of the top four courses by Golf Digest and is considered one of the most well-manicured in the country. The course stretches over 250 acres of Louisiana wetlands and is part of the Audubon Golf Trail.

With more than 100 bunkers, short holes, and long par-4s, TPC Louisiana is best known for its par-5 closing hole. The 18th is flanked on the right by water and causes drastic swings during the Zurich Classic of New Orleans every year. Billy Horschel took home first in 2013 with a 20-under for the tournament.

2013 Zurich Classic Of New Orleans

It would be hard not to get fired up at the reaction that Billy Horschel had on the 72nd hole at TPC New Orleans last year for the 2013 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Horschel birdied the 18th on Sunday to get his first win on the PGA Tour, and he was definitely excited with a reaction that illustrated that.

Horschel, a former Florida Gator standout in college, was two shots behind 54-hole leader Lucas Glover entering Sunday's round. A course-record tying 64 on the final 18 holes gave him a one-shot win over D.A. Points. Horschel gained momentum off of his success with the win to play very well throughout the majority of 2013. That included eight top-10 finishes and more than $3.5 million earned.
