TPC at Summerlin - Las Vegas, Nevada

Opened in 1991, TPC at Summerlin was designed by famous course architect Bobby Weed along with help from Fuzzy Zoeller, winner of the 1979 Masters + 1984 U.S. Open. Located in Las Vegas, this par-71 (par-72 for members) plays over 7,200 yards and was the first in Nevada to get approval from Audubon International for the conservation of natural sanctuaries. Despite not crafting every detail of the layout, TPC Summerlin still meets the highest standards and can test the most skilled professionals just like all TPC courses operated by the PGA Tour.

While known by several different names through the years, the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open is the only professional event that has ever been hosted by TPC Summerlin. Most notably this tournament was previously known as the Las Vegas Invitational and the site of Tiger Woods' first professional win in 1996. TPC Summerlin has also hosted local qualifier rounds for the U.S. Open as recently as 2013.

Top-5 Favorites To Win According To Bovada

The field for the 2013 Shriners Hospitals For Children Open definitely saw an increase in notable players with the addition of the FedEx Cup points on the line.

Zach Johnson (12/1) +1200 - Johnson comes in after a successful season in which he was right there in the end for the FedEx Cup. He was a winner last season, and a participant in the Presidents Cup a couple of weeks ago. At 12/1, Johnson leads the rest of the field as the favorite to get an early win. As straight as he hits the golf ball, Johnson will put himself in position to make plenty of birdies at TPC at Summerlin.

Nick Watney (16/1) +1600 - Watney will be the defending champion next week at the CIMB Classic, but this week he is just considered to be one of the top favorites. Watney came close to winning the third leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs finishing second at the BMW Championship. He also tabbed a top-15 finish at the Tour Championship. He saved his best golf for the end of the season, and oddsmakers think that solid play will continue.

Webb Simpson (16/1) +1600 - Another Presidents Cup member is pegged as a player to beat as well, coming in at 16/1 alongside Watney. Simpson is a player who reached all the way to the Tour Championship inside the top-30 of the FedEx Cup championship. He finished 4th at the Tour Championship, which was his second-best finish all season.

Graham Delaet (22/1) +2200 - There is not a better ball striker in the world than Delaet. That means plenty of opportunities to make birdies. If Delaet has a good week of putting, he will be in contention. He was right there with a runner-up finish at The Barclays this past season as well as a third-place finish at the 2013 Deutsche Bank Championship. At 22/1, Delaet is a popular pick and might be the player to watch this week.

Brendon De Jonge (25/1) +2500 - For those who follow golf there's a noticeable trend among the favorites. Four of the five played in the Presidents Cup. De Jonge has yet to get a PGA tour win but he has been pegged by experts as a player to watch during the 2013-14 season. He is another great ball striker who has improved in that department over the last year.

Free Picks For 2013 Shriners Hospital Open

The Winner - After watching Graham Delaet hit the ball at the Presidents Cup, it's hard to think that this player will go without a victory on the PGA Tour for much longer. For that very reason he is PGABettingOdds.com's pick to capture the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open this week and string together some low rounds.

Darkhorse Value Pick - Angel Cabrera has the potential to be one of the top players in the world, though he is a bit inconsistent at times. Cabrera tabbed a T22 finish last year at this event finishing 10-under, which included three rounds in the 60s. If he rolls the putter he can make some noise.
