Miami Beach Golf Club Worker Finds $36K In Cash In Bag, Turns It In

Miami Beach Golf ClubGolf has long been called a gentleman’s game, and a game played on the highest level of honesty. The same can be said for those who work around the game as well. That was never more evident than when a story came out earlier this week down in Miami Beach, Florida when a worker found a bag full of money on a golf course.

Rachel Castillo was working her shift at a Miami Beach Golf Club , not far from where the PGA Tour plays the WGC Cadillac Championship at TPB Blue Monster, when she stumbled upon a bag full of cash back on January 20. Continue reading

Graeme McDowell Back To Winning Ways After Tough Adjustment Period With His U.S. Open Win In 2010

Graeme McDowellEvery golfer dreams of winning a Major Championship. For Graeme McDowell, that dream was realized with his victory at the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. But what most golfers don’t think about is the adjustment period that comes after a huge win like that. In other words, winning a Major changes a player’s life, and it’s not easy to get back into the same swing of things.

For McDowell, that was a harsh reality in 2011, in the 12 months following his win at Pebble Beach. There were struggles, missed cuts, and now wins. Continue reading

How Many Major Championships Will Adam Scott Win?

Adam ScottTen years ago when Adam Scott won the Players Championship at the age of 23, the world was put on notice that he was the next player to rival Tiger Woods. His swing was simply too perfect for there to be any outcome otherwise. But unfortunately for Scott, there were a few things that held him back.

On the golf course, it was his putting. Off the golf course, it was a lack of the necessary preparation. Continue reading

2013 Masters Power Rankings

Tiger WoodsAs we all prepare for the 2013 Masters to get started on Thursday, we want to take a minute to look at the field and run down who we feel are the top-five contenders coming into the tournament. There are a number of different players who come into the Masters playing very well.

But when it comes to Augusta, it’s not always about who is playing the best at the time. Experience comes into play at the Masters perhaps more than any other tournament in the world, and that will certainly be evident once again this year. Continue reading

A Trip To Augusta National And The Masters Is Worth The Visit For Golf Fans Everywhere

Augusta National Golf ClubIf you have ever walked the hallowed grounds at Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters, then it is likely that you understand the feelings I am talking about in this post. Despite the fact most all of us will never play in the Masters, as a golf fan you can’t help but feel a special connection with the tournament.

I had the fortunate pleasure of going to the 2007 Masters, though I didn’t make a tournament round. I went on a Tuesday practice round, which when going to tournaments, I generally prefer the practice rounds as it is. They are less crowded, and the players are more at ease. Continue reading

To Play Or Not To Play The Week Prior To A Major? Players Opinions Are Divisive

The MastersIt started back several decades ago with Jack Nicklaus, when he placed the emphasis on winning Major championships over other tournaments. Whether that’s right or wrong is beside the point, because that is just the way it is now. That especially became true when Tiger woods came on to the season, and focused entirely on winning Majors.

Now, even the Majors have bought into it, knowing that golfers dedicate their entire year to peaking four times.

But with so much pressure, and so muchbuilt around the Masters, U.S. Open, British Open, and PGA Championship, players are always trying to find the best way to prepare. Continue reading

Let’s All Appreciate What Stacy Lewis Is Doing On The LPGA This Season

Stacy LewisMost of the time on this blog we talk about the last event and happenings on the PGA Tour, but it’s time to give the ladies some love. In particular, one lady who is having an incredible start to the 2013 LPGA Season, becoming the new No.1 ranked player in the world.

American Stacy Lewis was the 2012 Rolex Player of the Year on the LPGA, and came into 2013 with some momentum.

After a win in Singapore a couple of week ago, Lewis followed that up with a win in Arizona for the second-straight event.

The victory vaulted her from No.3 to No.1, dethroning Yani Tseng’s reign at the top of the Rolex Rankings. Tseng was No.1 in the world for more than two years, culminating in 109 weeks at the top. Continue reading

Will Tiger Get Victory No.8 At Bay Hill This Week?

Tiger WoodsTiger Woods has certainly dominated his fair share of venues in his career, and none more so than when he goes to Bay Hill.

The PGA Tour rolls through Orlando this week for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where woods is a seven-time winner and the defending champion. Though unlike last year when he came in searching for his first victory in more than two years, Woods has won four times since that victory last year.

Two of those wins have come early in this season, back at Torrey Pines in the end of January, and the WGC Cadillac Championship two weeks ago. Continue reading
