Rory McIlroy sits atop the FedEx Cup point standings going into the final event of the playoffs, the Tour Championship at East Lake Country Club in Atlanta. But the one disadvantage that McIlroy has against his closest competition, is that this will be his first trip to East Lake for the event.
Still, it’s hard to argue against McIlroy after he has played so well in the month of September, which included back-to-back wins in the playoffs. And after a week off, the top-30 in the FedEx Cup standings will tee it up at East Lake beginning on Thursday. Continue reading
With his second win in four weeks, Rory McIlroy moved all the way up to No.1 in the latest edition of the FedEx Cup playoffs. But he and the rest of the top-70 in the standings do not get a break this week, going to Carmel, Indiana for the playing of the 2012 BMW Championship.
